Brent is a Managing Director at Freshwater Advisors and takes a hands-on approach to developing and implementing communication strategy and process. Managing an internal team, he makes it his personal mission to ensure strong ROI and on-time delivery for clients.
Getting his start as an analyst for Boston Capital Ventures, Brent cut his teeth working for one of Chicago’s first Venture Capital firms. He then want on to launch ventures in the automotive, entertainment, outsourcing, and digital marketing industries.
As founder and CIO of Pipeline Music, Brent helped pioneer one of the internet’s first music companies and brought 250 albums of archival Russian classical music to market. Leveraging his academic work in Display Technology, Brent worked as an Apple specialist where he was an evangelist for the Advertising Industry. He launched Final Cut Pro, the HD Cinema Display and the Xserve. While at Quark, Brent developed the company’s first Cloud product. In 2005, he co-developed EZ Numbers, a financial projection software platform, which has helped to raise over $1B across thousands of ventures.
Since then, Brent has been advising Private Equity firms like Bain Capital, HIG, the Sterling Group and their portfolios to realize stronger returns. His team utilizes expertise in human factors, marketing communications, search engineering, and the development of web tools, in order to simplify internal communications, establish external reputations, and increase sales.
Brent has taught university courses in Global Communications and has authored the Capstone Global Negotiation Case Study currently used for several masters-level negotiation programs around the world. He holds a BS in I/O Psychology from DePaul, an MS in Human Factors Applied Psychology from California State University, Northridge and a Global MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. Brent is a member of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society and the former Marketing Chairman for The Jewish Federation of Las Vegas. He holds Certifications in Google Analytics, AdWords, and Mobile Advertising.
